Dear friends,
After three years of owning and operating Slather, I have decided to reinvent the way we do business. On August 31st, Slather’s retail location will close. I’ve decided that moving to an online marketplace via slatherpt.com will better suit my wanderlust. But don’t you worry, Gwen and I will continue our flea market tours of Paris three times a year, and after each tour we will bring our lovely French finds back to you! We will host “pop-up” stores at various locations in Port Townsend (and beyond…?!) throughout the year. Without the overhead of a permanent retail location, we will be able to bring back a wider selection of not only our fabulous lingerie but French clothing, jewelry, and accessories all at even better prices!
This new business structure will allow me the freedom to travel, begin new projects, and have a little more time to myself. It has been immensely rewarding managing a retail store full time, but man, is it a lot of work! I’ve learned more than I ever imagined from this experience. The support I’ve gotten from the community has continued to overwhelm me time and time again.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information regarding our restructuring. If you have unused gift certificates come use them! I love you all and can’t begin to thank you enough for your support over the years!
Stay tuned!
Xo
Sophie
it ALL sounds FANTASTIC !!! i look forward to the unfolding of the future w/ Slather here, there & EVERYWHERE else!
ReplyDeleteSad you won't have a store front, but excited. Please come and visit us in Kitsap County at some of our farmers markets.
ReplyDeleteI've put your website in my Favorites, and I'll look for your on-line store. Will you have trunk sales with Gwen sometimes?
ReplyDeleteI'll be teaming up with Gwen to host big trunk shows that go beyond lingerie. We'll be able to offer French clothing, jewelery, accessories as well as the French lingerie Slather is known for! Just be sure that you're on our contact list and following us on Facebook so you can stay in the know!
ReplyDeleteOh Shoot! I understand why you are closing the retail store, but I love trying on the bras and smelling the scents before I buy them....Oh well, what is a girl to do?
ReplyDeleteYou can still do all those things at our "pop-up stores"! I'll keep ya posted!
ReplyDeleteSo how do we find out about the tours?
